Meaning of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra :
"I bow down to that three-eyed Lord Shiva, who is full of sweet fragrance, who nourishes all living beings. May He free me from the bondage of samsara and death, just as a ripe cucumber is separated from the vine. May I be fixed in immortality!"


Benefits of chanting Maha Mrityunjay Mantra :
1.      It’s a life saving Mantra.
2.      Chant it with sincerity, faith and devotion.
3.      Best time to chant is early morning hours ( Brahma Muhurta), around 4.00AM.
4.      You can chant anytime, anywhere with pure devotion and love for Lord Shiva.

Shani Shingnapur

Shri Sani Bagavan is a powerful graham. There is no one who can give like Sani. He can make a beggar to king and king to beggar. He is Dharma devan for this Kali yuga. He gives good and bad based on one’s karma.

Where is it?
Shani Shingnapur is a temple for Shri Sani Bagavan. It’s in West India,  situated 84 kms from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
How to reach Sani Shingnapur?
The nearest airport is Nashik, which is 160 kms from Shinganapur.This place is well connected by rail and road as well. One can get direct buses from Nasik, Shirdi, Ahmednagar and Pune. From Mumbai Shinganapur is 280 kms and can be reached in 5 hours. It is around 85 Kms from Aurangabad, 70 kms from Shirdi and 35kms from Ahmednagar.

What is so special about Shani Singnapur?
The lord’s statue is a slab of stone which is assumed as the iconic form of Lord Shani. The deity is "Swayambhu" that is self emerged from earth in form of black but imposing stone. The statue of the Lord is kept uncovered ( open sky)
What is the temple timings?
The devotees are allowed to pray anytime, 24 hours in a day. The prayers can even be performed by the men at night, though women are not allowed to enter the temple at night.

What are the interesting facts about Singnapur?
  1. The temple has got no doors as the devotees believe that the Lord Shani will protect his devotees all the time.
  2. The deity can be only touched by the men. Women are just allowed to view them and pray.
  3. The men also have to take bath, and wear a saffron Dhoti given by the temple.
  4. The devotees can perform pooja and abhishek (tilak) on their own.
  5. The Shingnapur village homes do not have doors or even locks for their security. The houses here have no door frames, latches or padlocks. The barriers to enter most houses are only curtains.
  6. Any kind of liquor or meat is not allowed in that village.
How the pooja is done in this temple?
  • Male devotees clad in only saffron cloth after taking bath can proceed in wet clothes to the platform where the idol Shani Maharaj exists and perform puja to the idol. They can pour mustard Oil or water on the idol and even touch the idol.
  • Women are forbidden from going near the idol or going near the well used from which water is drawn for bathing the idol.
  • The devotee has to be bare headed (without any cap or cloth on the head) while receiving Darshan of the deity.
  • Brahmins are available for performing Pujas on Saturday and Monday.
  • The Aarti timings are around 4 AM in the morning before sunrise and after sunset around 6 PM.
